With a Masters in Clinical Social Work and Holistic Health Studies, Ivy is finishing up a PhD in Therapeutic Science at the University of Kansas Medical Center soon. She is curious about the ways our life experiences, relationships and narratives shape our health. Integrative, holistic approaches to health excite her.
During a high school sports physical, doctors told her she had cancer and would never be able to have children. She believed she would die before she was 25. During her healing journey, she discovered interactability and began to embody its insights. This year, she's celebrating her 21st year of living free of cancer and 3rd year of being a mom.
With over two decades of insight from personal experiences, clinical work and research in North America, Europe and Africa, she has created an idea system - Interactability Health Design - and it is transforming the health of thousands of people.
Her personal mission is to creatively inspire rhythms of healing, growing, resting and loving amid life’s transitions. Fireflies, the crunch of cold grapes, giraffes, crater lakes and her son all bring a smile to her face.

Kiza Healing Institute is a residential community where people release the stories within to create space for whole life as we love who we are together in this world. Members living at Kiza will experience an individualized healing program based on the Interactability Health Design model. Our inter-generational, multi-cultural community is for people who want to spend a season of their life healing, working, earning a degree and developing their ability to live well. The Kiza Healing Institute is a project funded by the Dream Jar Foundation.
Inspiration for the Dream Jar Foundation came from Ivy's childhood dreams.
"When I was in 2nd grade, my teacher Mrs. Sweet read out loud the adventures of the BFG. With the help of a young girl named Sophie, the Big Friendly Giant mixes up dreams and blows them into the rooms of sleeping children. After reading the book, we created our own dream jar. I found my jar hidden in the corner of a box several years ago.
'My Dreams. There are many dreams that I have. Some of the dreams I have are to have good health and go to a college that has classes to become a teacher and a singer. I would teach school every other years and sing the years I did not teach. I would collect Snow Village Houses, stickers, cool pencils and fun pens. I would be a millionaire and share with the poor and hungry. I would get married and adopt children from different countries. I would speak their languages. These dreams would make me very happy.'
The dreams of this 8-year-old girl have guided me throughout my life. These early passions for health and well-being, social justice, learning, teaching, cross-cultural understanding and writing are still alive within me."
